HEIGHT MEASURING DEVICE - ACROTEC
Currently, our Physical
Education teachers have been facing three challenges to measure their student’s
height: First, they usually take 30 to 40 seconds to take the reading.
Secondly, they always get inaccurate reading for the student’s height. Lastly,
they need extra space to store the instruments. For the solution, we have
created this device to overcome those problems. First, it measures students’
height much faster within 5 seconds. Secondly, it can give accurate reading as
it takes the height measurement electronically. Lastly, it is definitely space
efficient because it can simply be fixed on the wall. For the coding, we use Arduino IDE to give instructions to the
components to perform specific tasks. This product uses Maker UNO as the
mainboard. Our goal is converting this prototype to an end-product that is able
to be used by all Physical Education teachers. This device is also possible for
household use and others. Since the production cost is low, we believe our
product is affordable. While producing this product, we were able to integrate
our knowledge in Computer Science and technical skills. In conclusion, we hope
that our prototype will be able to serve its purpose to measure height accurately
and quickly.
